Farming origins began 10,000 years earlier than expected. Now this is what I call a page one article. People would rather read about J.Lo and other crap though so this clue that civilizations might have risen much early than the generally accepted date is mostly overlooked.

SpaceshipOne makes history by becoming the first private ship to reach space (62 miles). This is huge news and big step towards getting the human race into space but this 10 million X-Prize hopeful has spent upwards of 20 million so far. Privately funded or not, pretty much only filthy rich and the government can afford something like this.

Now when the average do-it-yourselfer can build a space ship from leftover washing machine parts, now that would be news.

Timber Press appears to have books about gardening that aren't the usual how-to, plant encyclopedias. That's what we need is more books about gardening that contain stories about people gardening and not just steps on how to dig a bed or feed your roses.
Royal Outdoor Products has the vinyl tool shed that I've been looking for. It's at Lowes for like $800 I think.
